I'm wondering if you are talking about the same Joshua Bean I have been looking at?According to census records he would have been born ca 1806 and he was married to Louisa.
Just recently I learned about this Joshua Bean and believe there is a possibility he is the brother of Mary Ann Bean.Mary Ann was born in 1813 in China, Maine and a family researcher thought her father's name might have been Jonathan. In the 1840 Census of Etna Maine, Mary Ann and her husband, Lewis Gatchell were listed, and nearby was Joshua Bean - who was about 6 years older than Mary Ann.There were no Beans in that town in 1830 and Joshua (and Mary Ann) were the only Beans I found in 1840.Their birthdates and location makes me wonder if they were siblings. In 1850, Mary Ann and family had moved to Dixmont, Maine - as had Joshua.Another coincidence??
Have you learned anything about Joshua? Anything you may have learned that you would be willing to share would be helpful to know if I'm headed in the right direction or not.
