Jonathan Bean and his sons William, John and Henry are found in Lincoln County, Tennessee on the 1830 census. Jonathan, William and John are listed on pg 78 of Ancestry.com census images and Henry is on pg. 83. Jonathan's age is given as 50-60 (1770-1780) as is his wife's, William's age is 30-40 (1790-1800), John's age is 20-30 (1800-1810) and henry's is 20-30 (1800-1810). I don't know where the Franklin County thing came from. In 1840 they are all found in Gallatin Co., Illinois living next to each other, James Bean (who I beleive is actually Jonathan) on line 17 age 60-70 (1770-1780), Henry Bean line 23 age 30-40 (1800-1810), Benjamin Cox line 24 age 40-50 (1780-1790), William Bean line 25 age 30-40 (1800-1810), John Bean line 27 age 30-40 (1800-1810). Neither Jonathan, William, Henry or John Bean are found in Tennessee in 1840. On the 1850 census for Gallatin Co., Illinois William Bean age 56 born North Carolina who's second wife is named Hattie, is living two households from Nancy Coxage 50 born North Carolina the widow of Benjamin Cox. This is the same William Bean that is living next door to Benjamin Cox on the 1840 census. Nancy (Bean) Cox and William Bean were siblings. This William Bean was the father of Nancy M. Bean born 1826 in Tennessee that maried Bricem Cox in Gallatin Co., illinois in 1841.
