Preston Ballard McFarlane is not the father of Wheeling Shelby McFarlane.He was b. to Alexander Neel and Barbara Adeline McFarlane; however, something happened to the two of them (I can't find out what!!!); He has two other siblings.Barbara "Molly" Neel; Alan Napoleon Neel; and Wheeling Shelby Neel.Jacob McFarlane raised Alan Napoleon Neel and he used the name the rest of his life of "McFarlane" he was the lst husband of my grand-mother, Sarah Elizabeth Baughman..md in Leigh, Colfax county, NE.They had six children.Alan d. 1906 buried in free ground in Oakview Cemetery, Monroe County, Iowa.She married widower DAvid Joshua Evans, who also had six children.They had four children, Elizabeth Evans Horton d. CA; Gladys Evans Stark d. CO; a son died at birth; and my father, Woodrow Wilson Evans d. OR.Wheeling was raised by Ballard McFarlane and assumed the name "McFarlane" I do not believe that it was a legal adoption.I am not sure as to what happened at this time with Barbara "Molly" Neel McFarlane.I will share my information in exchange for info from you.
