Thank you, Debra, for your response. I'm familiar with Shua, she was dau of Sinkler Bean.
My Bean line is John of Exeter, his son Jeremiah, and then Jeremiah's dau., Hannah, who m/ John Elkins. They ended up in Gilmanton.I believe yours is James (Hannah's bro)? He had 21 children (3 wives) and was a noted Quaker.
I find it most interesting that the two sisters of my next generation married Quakers, while their brother (my line) were all Methodists.
Just posted a message in the Scribner forum yesterday, regarding Shua and Edw. Scribner's marriage. And have found 3 other marriages betw. Scribners and the Elkins clan.
Similar to the Elkins and Bean connections. Silas Elkins m/ Hannah Bean and lived in Salisbury, NH and a Sally Bean m/ another John Elkins.I believe all were related to those mentioned above. There is another connection, with a Stephen Bean, but I can't remember the name of his wife.
I'm also interested in finding out more on John Bean (1751-1814) who was b. in Canterbury and died in Wheelock, Vt.He may have been a cousin to Nathaniel Elkins, John and Hannah's, oldest son.
If you have any info on any of them, please let me know.
Have you been able to study Jeremiah's wife's (Ruth Johnson) side of the family? Ricky
