Thanks for your response Debbie, Knew your great grandmother was a Hathaway but not the first name. I am descended from Elmer by his second wife Lottie Whitman. In the past two weeks I have uncovered a great deal of information about his lineage, seems Henry Beaney's parents names were Edward and Mary Beaney and they emigrated from England sometime between 1841 and 1845. Polly's parents were apparently Alex and Nancy Lucia of Mooers, both American born, his (Alex Lucia) father also named Alex, the senior Alex from Canada. This all needs to be cross-checked, which I am in the process of doing now. I have more than this but just giving you the highlights.

Elmer had three sons from the Hathaway marriage, Phillip, Elmer Jr. and Alfred, you must be descended from one of these?
