Hey Jim, well I will give you as close an explanation as I can.All of my info comes from uncle Kenneth who has spent a lot of time doing research and has compiled a directory for us.The info that I have is a little dated, he has done further research and I am told he plans to publish a book later. But here goes, in the 1850 census of Taylor county my g.g.g. grandmother was Cloey (Farris) Beard. Her husband was William. Right now I only have info on 5 children, but they may have had more that subject is not settled in my present records. They were Joseph, Francis Marion, Joshua, William, and Martha.William and Cloey moved to Hickman Co. Ky., in 1829? to establish a plantation it is assumed. After january 16, 1835 there is no info on William.Cloey was listed in the 1840 census as a Baird in Green (Taylor county) She listed 5 males and 2 females. The William that I have listed was born @1833 in Hickman Co. I have listings for Joshua's children, Francis Marion's, Martha's, but none on JOseph or William. This may be partly due to the war or they just may be misplaced.William seems to be a very popular name in the Beard family(have an uncle William) so this may not be anywhere close or it could be real close. Anyways I hope this helps a little, if it doesnt just let me know and maybe we can try a different angle. It can be pretty hard to research the Beard family in Kentucky because there are so many of us, but since 1840,at least, my clan has lived in central Kentucky and any questions you have I can ask around.
