Barbara, I have just started looking at my BEARD line in Wayne Co., IN . John Beard b. 5-25-1743 was the father of Thomas, John and Patrick from Rowan Co., NC . John Sr. my 4th great grandfather, died 1807 in Wayne Co., IN and he was married to Martha / Margaret of Randolph Co., NC . Thomas Beard, b. 1-14-1768 in Rowan Co., NC, m. 3-31-1791 in Guilford Co., NC to Elizabeth DICKS. I have more on her parents. Thomas & Elizabeth were pt. of Mary "Polly" BEARD, b.2-12-1808/10 in Guilford or Randolph Co., NC and married 1 Aug 1827 to James Pharo ANTRIM in Wayne Co., IN . She died 7-23-1887 in Spiceland, Henry Co., IN .
You may have read the History of Wayne Co., Indiana. The BEARDS lived in Washington Twp. of Wayne Co. There is a picture, I believe is of John Jr. and it tells of where they lived and of their neighbors.
