Hi James,
We are researching our Beard line, but I am not sure we are looking at the right Beards. The ones we think are our family are Scotch-Irish descent, with the name spelled Biard. I remember my Mother telling me,many years ago, that my Dad's family were Black Dutch from Austria.I remember growing up in Oklahoma, in the Choctow Nation, thinking my Dad was Indian. He and all his brothers and sisters were dark. Thats when my Mom told me they were Black Dutch. German speaking people from Austria.I really can't see Scotch-Irish being as dark as my Dad's family. My Grandfather was John Beard. My Dad and his family were born in Calhoun Co. Ms. Some of the names we have been researching are, "Welcome, Richard, and Pleasant. Welcome had a son named John, which we are supposing is our grandfather. Would you be kind enough to give me some of the names of the German Beard line and the locations they moved to as the left N.C.I think Welcome and Richard were born in Tenn, John in Al. Hoping you can shed some light on our Beard Clan.
