Hi, I'm looking for information on an Andrew Beard (born ca. 1730) who was married to Magdalena (born ca. 1739) and had the following children:
Andrew, born ca. 1768
Michael, born ca. 1769
Barbara, born ca. 1771
George, born ca. 1774
John, born ca. 1781 (in Canada)
This family lived at Ruddell's Station in present day Harrison County, Kentucky and were taken prisoner by the British and Indians on June 24, 1780. They remained prisoners at Detroit then Montreal when the were released in 1782 after the Revolutionary War. They may have returned to Kentucky and settled either in Bourbon or Harrison County. Andrew Beard was mentioned as being shot and wounded during a March 1780 attack by the Indians. I have a lot of information about the capture if you are related or just curious. Could this be your family?
