Noted in your response that your Beard lineage comes from Tennessee.My Grandfather, James Henry Beard lived in Maury/Lewis County TN.He married Nancy Cathleen Sharp in Lewis County in December 1885.The 1880 census for Lewis County shows that Nancy Cathleen was living with her grandparents, Jesse and Jemima Sims.I can not find the parents of Nancy Cathleen.I known that James Henry's father was killed in the Civil War and that his mother married a Mr. Galloway.I believe that her maiden name might have been Slatton, given names Mary Elizabeth.Would appreciate a reply if we might have a possible match.
