Glenda, I went back into my Beard files and realized that my William did attest to being born in Carlisle, PA, but not in 1760.In fact, in checking dates of birth of his children, I realize that he was born much earlier.Your info. on William, husband of Margaret Blackstock, had been sent to me in 1992 by Margie Dunn, 1824 Fincher Rd.; Canton, GA 30114.She has much info. on the Blackstock family in case you are interested. I still believe there is a connection between the Beard families in Union Co., SC.My William may have been the uncle of yours, but surely at least a cousin. My William also had a son named William, but he was born 1776 and buried in Laurens Co., SC.The Irwin connection to Blackstock is clearly established. I'm still wondering about my Elinor Beard.I think she was a namesake of Elinor Irwin. There is much Irwin (Erwin) info. at the Historical Society library in Carlisle. Happy hunting.Jan
