Saw your message to Matthew. I am from Francis A Beard, brother to William and Robert Beard. William has caused much controversy on this forum.

Last month two of my cousins and I made a trip to Lincoln Co TN to do some research. We found some court cases regarding William. It mentioned his brothers.

We know that Francis and his brothers were the sons of William Beard md to Elizabeth Irwin. We know that they originally came from Cumberland Co PA and then went to SC.
Our Francis was born after they went to SC.

We found a will for a Thomas Young while we were there. He mentioned two daughters, Elizabeth Beard and Mary Beard. We are wondering if Mary Beard could be the Mary that is listed with our Francis A Beard in the 1850 TN Census.

We found a deed for Wm and Francis' brother, Robert. It listed Robert's wife as Mary Beard.We wonder who Elizabeth Beard belonged to....
