You and I have conversed a few times. Would you mind telling me Whom was the Revolutionary War soldier that stated William and Eleanor was the parents of John and William? This maybe our ansewer to how they have confused the to Williams.
I do agreed with you John and William are brothers also there is a Francis, Robert . We are check on a James whom enlisted in Capt. John Irwin and severed the same amount of time as John.
I think that Nehemiah Blackstock may have William borthers mixed up . I think that it was John whom married Mary Blackstock. As she proved that she was the daughter of Old William Blackstock with her Bible.
and the fact the Robert was alive in 1840 living in Giles, Tn.
But again I could be wrong it would not be the first time I will try to have an open mind.
