Hi Shirley,I don't know of an Elizabeth Beard that married a James Henry Payne.
The only Elizabeth Beard that I have around that time is Elizabeth Ann Beard b. 1826 in Brush Creek Twp. Muskingum Co., Ohio. She married Thomas Taylor.
Elizabeth's parents were John Washington Beard (b. Maryland) and Margaret Barbara Baumgartner (b. Pennsylvania)
John W.'s father was Frederick Beard. Frederick had 12 children. I have info on his son John W. but none of the other children.Your Elizabeth may be from one of John W.'s brothers or another Beard family.
