At the Backwell Parish Church on 27 March 1828, Thomas BEARD of Banwell, married the widow MaryEVANS (nee SPERRIN), who bears Mary BEARD 1828, John BEARD 1831. Thomas is missing from the 1841 census, and presumed dead. Mary SPERRIN (1801-1881+) first married Samuel Baker EVANS (1801-1822) of Nailsea, and bore Samuel Sperrin EVANS in 1822. Mary SPERRIN was likely the first of nine children born to John SPERRIN and his wife Mary. Brother John SPERRIN (1803-1881+) was the local registrar. Brothers James and William were farmers, as was youngest brother Edward in 1841. SPERRIN sisters married John FEAR (Lucy), George HITCHMAN (Hannah), and William HILL (Emma).
