Re: A.J.Beaty b.1848 married to Didama b.1850 Fentress Co. TN
Thank you for responding to my previous email.I am familiar with the Masters book. There is much good information in it and not everything in it is correct. For instance, one mistake in it is that he has my mother as having been married twice and my mother was only married once, to my father, for over 60 years.I know it is difficult to proof all the information that goes into a book.I am finding that out as I write the one I hope to have ready next year.I don't have the copyright date on the Masters book but I believe it was written before the Beaty Project 2000 pretty much disproved the theory that John Beaty & Margaret Montgomery were the parents of all the early Fentress Co. Beatys.Of the early Fentress Co. Beatys, it is pretty much accepted at this point that 1752 James & Phoebe (Beaty) McClellan were twins by James' Rev. War application. It is proven that 1780 John, 1785 George & 1787 David are brothers. (See Hogue)It has been proven that Alexander and Andrew were brothers.According to a an affiant whose statement supported Alexander's Rev. War pension application, she lived in the home of Alexander and Andrew as a child and their father was named Billy. Many of the Fentress County researchers, including me, believe they were all related in some way.It just doesn't seem possible that they are children of John & Margaret Montgomery Beaty.Check out Beaty Project 2000 online.
