DNA Testing - Bushong & Beauchamp - Name Change or Myth
Good Afternoon Beauchamp Researchers,
Back in the early history of the Bushong family in Pennsylvania, it was claimed that the Beauchamp family changed the spelling of their name to Bushong in 1731. It would be interesting to see if this is truth or myth by using DNA. I think it is myth but who knows for sure.
So, I am very excited to announce to you a new project concerning the Bushong family and various surnames similiar in spelling who lived in the same areas back in time to compare DNA to see if they connect with a common ancestor back in time in Europe. I have now establish a Bushong DNA project with Family Tree DNA in Houston, Texas under the surname Bushong. This lab is a well establish and reliable lab. Everything will be confidential. We are very hopeful that everyone who has been wondering if there is a possibility that there is a connection back in time, will be interested in being involved in this project. The Bushong name has evolved into several spellings from what ever the original spelling was depending on who you talk to. The early family in Pennsylvania claimed that they came from France and the name was spelled Beauchamp. There are posts to this forum about that. In Switzerland it was Boschong but also spelled Boschung, and in this country many various court documents show various spellings from Boshong, Bosang, Bushing, Bossom, Bausaum, etc. The more we have participate, the better the results.
Please get on board and publicize this project on your FaceBook page if you have one and anywhere else where Bushongs and Beauchamp frequent. Everything will be done in confidence and we will not be putting private DNA out on the web for everyone to see.
Many other surnames have been involved with testing and have been very pleased including the Sprinkles. It will give us a lot of information about the family and answer many of our questions about the various lineages.
Order your kit today. Call Family Tree DNA at 1-713-868-1438 to order over the telephone or visit their website: www.familytreedna.com.
