My grandfather, George Becker, was b. 24 Sep 1888 in Crvenka, which when he was born, was in Hungary.It is now (because of border changes) part of Serbia--at least that is what I have found on the web.His father was Jakob Becker (b. 1859) who m. Elizabeth Knipple (b. 1864 on 8 Mar 1883.Besides George, Jakob and Elizabeth had children: Jakob Jr., Teabolt (died in WWI), and Peter.From what I have read, Hungary opened its doors to German settlers in the late 1700's - early 1800's and that is probably when my Beckers migrated from Germany to Hungary.That's just a guess.I have not been able to find any more information about my Becker family and am interested in anything anyone can offer about Beckers in Hungary.
