I am seeking any information on the family of William Daniel Beckom, a minister in Georgia in the Primitive Baptist in the 1800's. He was married to an indian woman by the name of Amanda Wishum (warshum) and they lived for a while in Augusta, Ga. My grandfather was born while they were in Augusta. William and Amanda had 7 children and according to a 1920 census of Lexington County in South Carolina, my grandfather was the only living child at that time. On the 1920 census, they were living in the Chinquapin section of Batesburg, SC and the name was spelled Beckham on the census. I know this was my family because it listed my Grandfather, Grandmother, Greatgrandmother, father and 3 girls named Stella, Mandy, and Sophia.I have no record or any type nor do I ever remember my family mentioning Mandy and Sophia. I do know that my GGF William Daniel and my GGM Amanda were not tegether when my GGM Amanda died in 1930 or 1931. The uncertainty about the date of death is that her death certificate and her grave marker have different dates. The last record of my GGF William Daniel was while he was living in Bath, SC. he was a member of the Ohoopee Primitive Baptist Association which met at various places in Georgia in the late 1890's and went out of existence in 1901. If anyone out there anywhere has any information on any of these or knows where I may find any information, please email me. I will be happy to share any information I have with anyone needing it. Thanks!
