I am trying to find out anything at all about my Beckman/n heritage.Below is absolutely everything I know of these relatives. I am the grand daughter of Wilhelminia Martha Beckmann and I am searching for my roots. Wilhelminia Martha (known as Minnie) Beckmann married Frederick William Heilman. In Oregon, USA.She is the daughter of August Beckmann and Henrieta Marie Sophie Hausen (known as Marie).August Beckmann was born May 25, 1855, in Bolstedt, Germany."Marie" Hausen was born August 13, 1864, in Belfort Germany. After they married, June 17, 1882 in Belfort, they immediately came to America and settled near Perham, Minnesota. Recently I came into possession of two letters written in the 1948 by two separate Beckmann's from Germany, likely cousins, these letters were directed to my grandparents, Minnie & Fred Heilman, requesting help because of circumstances after W W II, they are very emotional letters and quite touching. In both letters my grandparents were referred to as Aunt & Uncle. The fist letter is written by Johann (Hans) Beckmann in this letter he states that his grandfather, whom he was named for, Johann (Hans) Beckmann was the brother of my August Beckmann, he says he is the oldest grandson of Johan. He also said his wife's name was Hannah and that he had a son named Hans, Jr. who was 12 at the time (1948). He said that they lived in Bremen, Germany. He was an officer in the War and during that time due to the bombing his family fled to the mountains and Saxony later they were reunited. The second letter was written by Kurt Beckmann (his address was Halligenwag 25, Wilhelmshaven, British Zone, Germany) This letter was dated July 4, 1948.Kurt's says in this letter that he is the son of??(can't read writing) Beckmann, who is the oldest son of Johann Beckmann the brother of August Beckmann. He says he is 33 (at time of letter) married and has one daughter who's name I can't read but starts with an "M" she is 7 years old.If any of this connects please please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.orgThanks.
