Please go to http://www.bracebridge.com then to genealogy page. Look for postings on Muskoka Parry Sound Genealogy Society and contact them, email for Barb Paterson will take you there. Shows on this page too. I did not realize Becksteads were in Huntsville. The surname Armstrong is there in most of the towns in the area. Morrisburg is not close but many went from Morrisburg to Huntsville--land grants. Also reason why many continued west. Some pioneers were unfairly taxed over cutting down pine trees (which they did not cut down) paid their taxes and left the area again for the West. After the railway went through the Muskoka area there was unemployment, some simply followed the railway work to the Western provinces.Hope this helps some. Do get almost any of the books put out by Boston Mills Press on Muskoka and you will understand a great deal about the pioneers there. There are 2 books on Huntsville now. This River the Muskoka is excellent. Also all of the books connected to the old steamships are too. Hope this helps.
