The Visitation of Yorkshire, 1666, under BECKWITH of ACTON, shows that Roger Beckwith, son of Marmaduke Beckwith & Anne Dynley, died in 1634, having married twice. The Memorial to the family in the Masham Church in Yorkshire mentions only the one wife - Susanna BRAKENBURY, but the Visitation record shows his first wife to be .....CURRER.From another source, I found her name to be Dorothy CURRER.From this first marriage there was a son Thomas, and daughters Anne wife of John ROBINSON of Bolton on Swale (he died 1654), and Katherine, wife of Thomas NORTON......I descend from Anne ROBINSON nee BECKWITH.
Does anyone have any record of Thomas BECKWITH of Cold Ingleby, a Royalist during the time of the English Civil War? Cold Ingleby appears to be a manor in the parish of Castle Leavington or Kirklevington, which manor had been purchased by the above-mentioned Roger Beckwith.
Help in identifying all the children of Roger Beckwith, by his two marriages, would be much appreciated.
