Robert Webb, Sr., of Isle of Wight, then Surry, and his wife Ann appear to be the parents of Robert Webb, Jr. of Surry / Sussex and my ancestor Charles Webb of Surry / Sussex / Southampton, Va.Robert and Ann Webb transferred some land to Gregory Rawlings in an early 1700s record.
Robert owned land next to Richard Washington. The Johnsons were right there with them.
A relationship with the Johnsons, Colliers, and Rawlings continued for several decades. Why?
When I saw there was an Ann Lucas, I wondered if Robert Webb, Sr. had married Ann Lucas.
Knowing that there was a Warren connection also rang a bell. The name Warren became very popular among the Webbs.Micajah Webb of Brunswick named a son Warren.John Webb's son Charles named a son Warren.Generation after generation the name was passed down.My grandfather Webb had a brother in Polk County, Arkansas, named James Warren Webb.I suspect the origin of the Warren name is the Warren family of Surry.
I'll have to check what you said in that last paragraph about Moses Johnson's wife to see if it matches what others have said.
