Thanks!Ifound it after posting. The problem with the Ackworth historical data is Rebecca Beckwith is said to have wed William Humphrey, a brother of Bela Humphrey.More research will have to show if she first married William, who would have to be an older brother of Bela's since there are only two young males in the 1800 ABel Humphrey household (Manley and Bela). Bela Humphrey married 1) Polly Bingham of Marlow, dau of Ripley Bingham and 2) Rebecca Beckwith.Later census records show that Manley and his wife are living in his parents house.
In the small Northridge Cemetery, Sutton Vt are the graves of three of the Beckwith sisters: Rebecca (w husband Bela Humphrey) my ancestors; Anna Beckwith who was the 2nd wife of Rev Samuel Eaton (buried in grave in front of Rebecca (Beckwith)and Bela Humphrey; and Abigail Beckwith who married JOhn Ladd.
Another problem has been that a Rootsweb file (and possibly a published family genealogy) has this Rebecca marrying someone else (in identical time periods).
The last problem with the Ackworth historical information, is that most of the children ascribed to William have vital records in Reading Vt (census records confirm Bela's location there) and Sutton VT (again census confirmations) clearly showing Bela and Rebecca Humphrey as the parents.
These births (Harriet, Hiram, Phylinda, Hannah, Sarah, ABel, Electa,Ira, occurred after the marriage of Bela Humphrey and Rebecca Beckwith.I also have a family photo album of my great, great great grandmother Sarah Humphrey Hartwell (yes it is very old!)- the above Sarah - with identified photos of Abel, Electa, Ira and their children. Also many unidentified photos.
Thanks for your help.I would greatly appreciate any further information on this family.
