Hi Ernie. You and I are 1st Cousins, 1 time removed.I don't know if you still read here and it's been a few years since you posted this but here goes anyway, just in case. I guess others may be able to use this info as well.
Your father, Ernie Jr was my first cousin. We knew each other fairly well from childhood up through our teen years. We lost touch shortly after his return from Viet Nam. I have his line & can send you a GED file. Email me if you read this. I never met your mother so don't know anything of her line.
Ernie Jr's father, my Uncle, was Ernest Magloire Bedard and his Mother was Corona. We called her Coco. I never knew her maiden name or anything about her family. I'm hoping to find her maiden name somewhere in my mother's papers.
When Aunt Coco died, Ernie Sr remarried to a gal named Ellie and they had about 4 kids I think.I only met Ellie once and don't know the children at all.I believe they're still in Holyoke, MA.I'm sorry but Ernie Sr passed away last month.
His father's name was Louis Edmond Bedard, born Sept 29,1891 in Petersburg, NY & died Jun 16,1958 in North Adams, MA. His first wife was Alice Morin & they had 5 children. Pauline E, Margaret, Marie Delia, Florence Grace, & Louis Arthur.Florence was my mother.
Louis' second wife, your great grandmother, was Gertrude Louise Ducharme. A wonderful woman and a terror at the poker table. She was born Mar 2, 1887, died 1953.Your Grandfather, Ernie Sr, was the only child of that marriage.
Gertrude took on the other 5 children from Grandpa's first marriage, including my mother, gathered from various aunts & uncles homes where they were staying after Alice's death. According to my mother, Gertrude couldn't stand to see them all separated like that and insisted on bringing them all home.
Louis Edmond's father, also Louis Edmond Bedard, was born Jan 30, 1863 in Ste. Luc,Quebec Canada. His wife was Evelina Courtemanche. My mother said her name was Evelina but I've seen some other people's research and they called her Emmeline. She was my mother's Grandmother & she knew her fairly well so I feel pretty confident the name is correct.
Well, I could go on but it's a long line.I hope you read this and hope it helps.Let me know if you want the GED file.
