Hi Jim,If you go to the BECHER Genforum site you will see postings by Alistair Gordon who has most of the Becher History, (sometimes Beecher, Becker,Beacher,and Beaker on various census and records etc.) from Phane and before in Kent plus Southwell,Notts and the Indian Army side and more.

I am trying to trace the father of my 5xgtGrandfather Lionel George Becher(a Capt.Lt. in Colonel Wynyards Marines) who died in 1741 after the battle of Carthagena and left 2 children, Joyner(my 4xGt.Grandfather) born 1738 and a daughter unknown.If anyone has any information I shall be more than delighted to receive it.Eileen.
