Re: Joseph Behrens, Cincinnati, OH
Yes, in the 1900 and 1910 census there are the children:
Matilda, born abt 1891
Anton (Anthony) born abt. 1893
Joseph, born abt 1896
William, born about 1908.
If you send me your e-mail I can attach scans of the 1900, 1910, and 1920 census pages as well as the passenger ship maifests.I can also send you the Churchbook records refernce. There are onlytwo microfilms for the Catholic Church Jever,Oldenburg. We can't be exactly sure that the Jever district of Oldenburg was where the family was bornfrom, but it's a good place to tstart.
You can go to the LDS Family Research Center in Colorado Springs.Go to the LDSewbsite at www.familysearch.org and they should have a link with all of the Family Research Centers throughout the US.They charge $5.50 per microfilm reel for a 30 day rental. They send it to the local LDS Family center where they should have microfilm readers for use free of charge. You can make copies of pages for 25 cents per page. You may have a hard time reading the old German handwriting, so be forewarned. The Catholic Church records are often written in Latin, but there is enough info. you can usually make out names and dates. Also, don't know the quality of the films and the quality of the handwriting.Sometimes the writing is neat as a pin and sometimes it just looks like scribble.
Feel free to contact me at my home e-mail address:behrens@Comcast.netI'm going to do some more searching for Harry and Wilhelmina Behrens in cincinnati.See what I can find.
