Bell of Arkansas

My great grandfather's sister was named Elizabeth Bell Adams Harrison. Bell was a given name,Harris(later Harrison) was her surname, and Lockman was her married name. Her mother was Alsinda Mayes whose mother was Sarah Davis. Elizabeth's paternal grandfather was Bryant E. Mayes b. 1813 or so.They lived in Plum Bayou, Arkansas and they show up in the 1850 census. I am trying to figure out where Elizabeth got the name of Bell as her middle name. I was told that it was a Cherokee name. Does anyone have any information about this? Thank you. Ann
