Gary Bellefleur 1960-2010
STETSON, Maine - Gary Joseph Bellefleur Jr., 49, died unexpectedly April 26, 2010, at his residence. He was born Nov. 17, 1960, in Bangor, a son of Gary and Rosa (Savage) Bellefleur Sr. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1979; attended the University of Maine, Orono; and graduated from Husson College with a degree in business management. Gary started his working career at Eastern Maine Medical Center while still in high school. His financial expertise saved many companies. At the time of his death, he was vice president and CEO of Newport Industrial Fabrication. He was a member and past president of Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce, a member of NEC Bowling League and PASS racing tour. He also served as a selectman in Stetson. Gary's passion was racing, which he had done since the early 1980s. He is survived by his parents; his wife, Melodie; his children, Gary III and Cassie; two brothers, Brent Bellefleur, and Scott and wife, Margo Bellefleur, all of Stetson; two sisters, Barbra Mortimer of Stetson and Heidi Guimond of Portland; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be sadly missed by all his many close relatives and friends, especially Scott and wife, Lori Webber, and Scotty Dimmick. He was predeceased by a special niece, Shea Messier. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, with the Rev. Mark Nolette officiating. Burial will be at Coboro Cemetery, Stetson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern New England Chapter, 114 Perimeter Road, Nashua, NH 03063.
