Re: Benders in Allegheny Co. PA

J. J. Bender was briefly associated with Zion's Watch Tower. That association seems not to have lasted past 1882 or so. Later he wrote to J. H. Paton. Paton was the publisher of The World's Hope, a universalitst magazine published in Michigan. What his finaly church connection was is a mystery. He seems to have stopped associated with both groups by 1890. There is a slight possibility that he was connected to what became the Advent Christian Church previous to 1880, but this is uncertain.
