Re: James Bennington, Monroe Co., Indiana
Thank you for posting this information.I have a couple of identification questions regarding what you wrote.I have some, not all, of what you posted from the Bennington history.
I have Elder John Crafton and Sarah Brandon/Branham Bennington's son as John T. (not L.) and I have him born 25 January 1859 or 16 January 1858.Some years ago I was going over the newspaper records in Boone, Hendricks and Monroe Cos., IN and I think I came across news clippings as to him.
I do have this John T. as married to Sarah Catherine Young, and that she died in 1925.I have him listed as buried in Dove or Dove Cemetery, Boone Co., IN?
Nehemiah Bennington was not married to Mary Higgins.Elder John Crafton Bennington was married 1.Mary Higgins and 2.Sarah Branham/Brandon.Might you have any family background on this Sarah?
Elder Bennington had three sons with Mary Higgins:John Henry, d.i., Dr. Amos Marion Bennington of Max, IN, and my great grandfather, Levi Fraser Bennington, of Adams, Decatur Co., IN.It would appear Mary died about the time of Fraser's birth, and exactly one year later Elder John C. Bennington married Sarah Brandon/Branham.
Do you know if Sarah Catherine Young had any children with Able Voyles?
I have that Elsia Alvaretta Bennington married Walter Gebard and they had a daughter, born 1902, Indianapolis.I do not have her name?Could you supply the rest of that line?
I was not aware that some of these persons were interred at the Young Family Cemetery.
I have that Elsia had a brother, Charles Edward Bennington, married to Rose Emily Woodward, but have no information on her or their daughter, Laverne Bennington.
Thank you very much for all the information you have provided.I exchange info. with Janna Larson, the Bennington historian.Maybe she has seen your posting and contacted you.
