Re: M. Francoise Benoit/Benoni Melancon@1758
Benoni Melancon (son of Paul Melancon and Marie Theriault) married Marguerite Benoit (born 1721 and twin to Anne) about 1742 in Acadie. This information according to the Centre for Acadian Studies in Moncton NB. About 1757, they had 7 children and were in Massachusetts. They were deported from the Grand-Pre church in Fall of 1755.
She was daughter of Claude Benoit and Marie Hebert (married in Grand-Pre in 1711) and is sister to my ancestor Antoine Benoit, first and only Benoit to settle permanently in New Brunswick.
Claude was born in 1686 and was son of Martin Benoit and Marie Chaussegros.
