Emilie Bergeron and Simeon Bernier m 1875
Seeking my great grandmother Emilie Bergeron who m. on 30 April1861 to Norbert Tanguay, son of Pierre Tanguay and Archange Remillard of Ste. Claire, Bellechasse, PQ. Her parents are given on the marriage record as Joseph Bergeron and Emilie Nadeau.
Norbert Noel Tanguay was born abt 1838 to Pierre Tanguay and wife Archange Remillard. He died 10 June 1873 (Ste-Claire church record) at age 35.On 5 Apr 1875 Emilie married 2nd Simeon Bernier, son of Marcel Bernier and Marie LeCours. Her Tanguay children did not see her again except for 2 who apparently visited her as adults at abt age 20.I remember a granddaughter telling me that Emilie and her 2nd husband had lived near Barre PQ where she resided and 2 children had fallen through the ice and drowned, apparently on their way to school.
I last found Emilie and Simeon Bernier residing in Ditton, Quebec in the 1881 census and have lost them after that.I would appreciate any information on her whereabouts, family and death place which I have been unable to locate. They had more children and left Ditton. Possibly because she is much older than her spouse, she may have altered her age on various census reports.

The Tanguay children are not actually living with the couple and never did after their marriage in 1875. In this 1881 census, each Tanguay child is also reported in the residence where each was living in this census, ie each one was individually double-reported by the respective guardian except possibly for the dau. Emelie/Emilie.
