Many thanks Rene for your generous offer.I'm finding a couple of problems.First I suspect that many people have quoted from a 'posted' genealogy without looking for the original register entry. For example I am currently reading St. Mathias and Athanase is definitely not there in January of 1810.The second problem is that the LDS files are not well cross-indexed:I was not able to find Ste. Marie de Monnoir under subject, name, place or keyword. The sgslibrary gave me the film numbers and 'yes' they then emerged from the LDS catalogue -- one and the same.My current problem is with St. Mathias. The records begin in 1790.However you can find some entries under St. Olivier for 1786-1790 at the end of the St. Mathias Index.Irenee Jette states that there are records back to 1739 and they can be found 'au presbytere de Chambly' with a copy 'desposee aux Archives de St. Hyacinthe'.But then when you look for them you can't find them, they are not on the Chambly or St. Hyacinthe film.I am very grateful for any suggestions.
