I have made a thorough search of the various pedigrees at the end of the book, but I am afraid that although there is a whole page (Pedigree C) devoted to the descendants of Joseph Bewley of Hesket, b 1668, including many other Josephs, I cannot find one that appears to tally, even remotely, with your ancestor. Sorry.
