The name Mungo & the Cumberland Bewley's

Does anyone know how the very Scottish name Mungo became a prominent Christian name among this family? Of course Cumberland is one of the border counties and when the Scots and English border reivers were not killing each other they sometomes took wives from both sides. I have never seen the Bewley's listed as a reiver family. Possibly they had some connection with Scotland?
