I just recieved an obituary in my e-mail fron J. Paul Bienvenu's son.J. Paul passed away this morning at 6am in Deerfield Beach, FL.Paul was instrumental in my genealogy search.We worked together for a while sharing information and then he told me about this site.Through this site, I have now connected with two of my mother's cousins in Canada.His obit reads as follows:
J. Paul Bienvenu, A.K.A. Paul H. Bienvenu
Mr. Bienvenu recently succumbed after a long battle from the complications of Multiple Myeloma at his home in Deerfield Beach, FL.Born in Dracut, MA March 26, 1925, he spent his early youth in Haverhill, MA.From there he joined the Navy Air Corps for WWII.He served as a crew chief and gunner on a PBY Catalina Air and Sea Rescue Squadron.He married Marion L. (MacAnnany) of Lowell, MA in 1948 and they raised their family in Chelmsford, MA.Paul was a Charter Trustee and Exaulted Ruler of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks.He was also a long time member of the Chelmsford Rotary Club and for many years was a Chelmsford Water Commissioner.Through his engineering company Fleming, Bienvenu and Associates, he was the consulting engineer for Chelmsford for many years.He was the Charter President of Massachusetts County Engineering Associations.He was honored by being chosen as Surveyor of the Year in 1972 by the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors, an honor that he cherished.Paul leaves a Loving and Devoted wife, Marion, of 52 years.He also leaves a son, Mark Paul, and a granddaughter, Rachael Marie, of Heartland, VT; daughter, Judith Ann, of Forest Heights, MD; son, Joel Brooks, of Pompano Beach, FL; and son, J. Peter, and daughter-in-law, Ana of Dracut, MA.He will be interred among old friends at Pine Ridge Cemetary in Chelmsford, MA.
