Her parents were Timothy L. Bigelow Jr. and Elmira Lord.Timothy L. Bigelow Jr. was the one who ran the "Bigelow Mint" in or near Camanche. He was arrested for counterfeiting and/or receipt of stolen goods and is shown in the federal prison on the 1860 Chicago census. His father, Timothy Bigelow Sr. was a minister, but died in 1823 in Ohio of Malaria, as did his wife, Polly Wilson Bigelow.
On the 1850 census in Rock Island Co., IL, Timothy's 2nd wife, Elmira/Almira (Lord) Bigelowis living with some of her children and 3 males: Nathan Armstrong and his 2 sons, Gabriel Dusenbury Armstrong, and James Martin Armstrong.Elmira's young daughter Mary Loretta age 15, has just married Gabriel Dusenbury Armstrong and is shown as Mary Armstrong.I believe the Armstrongs and Lords had connections going back to New York, where the Armstrongs were from.
