Thomas Bilbo 1776 of Virginia
I'm searching for my relatives from Virginia.I'm kin to Thomas Bilbo, born in Virginia in 1776.He fought in the war of 1812 as a civil officer for Jackson County. Records show that in 1812, "The act of cresting Jackson County set the county seat at "the house of Thomas Bilbo." Land owned by Bilbo lay on both sides of Pascagoula River at what is now know as Wilkerson's Ferry. This probably remained the county seat for ten years, since no record has been found making a change. Jackson County sent as her representative to the constitutional convention of 1817 Thomas Bilbo and John McLoud. Bilbo was a surverror of U.S. lands. He served the county in many capacities." He married Ann Lawrence, of England, on July 12, 1804. Looks like they had the following children; John, Nancy, Jane, Joseph, William L. (my line), Rebecca, Ann, William M., Laura, and Margaret. I have more info if anyone's interested. Please let me know if anyone can help with my search. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
