Dear Brenda,
I just begun the search for the Bitgood geneology. Tonight, actually. I was so excited to log onto this site. I hope you can maybe lend some help from your search to a beginner. My husband born March 24th 1969 in Putnam CT, His father John Edward Bitgood,Sr. Born also in CT. I'm not sure where at the time. I do have an article about John Bitgood, Seniors father, (my husbands grandfather, died from a boating accident somewhere off the shore of R.I.. I have to find the articale as it has been quite a time since I read it. Of course it will state the name and more details that I have since forgotten. (we have recently moved and much is still packed.
If any of this sounds familiar, please flip me an e-mail. Also I am in the process of planning a trip to Voluntown, CT, in the beginning to middle of October. You mention in some of your information a cemetary with some Bitgood's. Could you let me know where that is located. I will be visiting my husbands great aunt Sylvia Tyler. I've never met her and have yet to contact her of our possible trip. We currently care for her sisters (Vivian Bitgood(by 1st marriage) husband (my husbands step grandfather). I hope all that made since. I'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to e-mail me.
