Kenneth Black was born on the Isle of Jura, Scotland about 1730. He married Miss Kate Patterson , and soon thereafter emigrated to North Carolina and settled in Moore County; then Cumberland County located about one mile west from the present town of Southern Pines, North Carolina. One of my sources reads:"The old Jura baptism records contain an entry for April 4,1722, stating that several children were bapised to Malcolm Black of Knocknofeolamane and his wife Catherine McArthur. Knocknofeolamane is now known as Craighouse. Could this be the same Malcolm Black, father of Kenneth Black who went to North Carolina from the Isle of Jura, Scotland?"A Genealogy research was done on this family in 1906 and 1911. I will be glad to share this information on the descendants of Kenneth Black. To view this information about the Kenneth Black Family of North Carolina, visit http://www.skantech.com/tutor.
