Hi Belinda--looks like we have made a connection here.I can't give you exactly where you fit in but I can tell you where to look and you can see if your Elizabeth fits into some of these other lines that branch out from my Black family.I am Jan Bell over here in Carrollton, GA.I have been researching my family tree almost 40 years now.I had known about my Black ancestor only about ten years though but had hit the brick wall.Only found her people a few weeks ago in SC--now I find you! What luck! My gg-grandmother was Eliza Jane Jones who m. Doctor Franklin Green.Eliza Jane's parents were James S. Jones and Lucinda Black ( b.1822 in SC).I hit the brick wall with both Jones & Black but at least knew that both were born in SC. And they married in Meriwether... I kept looking in all the wrong places. Finally, I found the Blacks in Edgefield District, SC.Lucinda's father was Peter Black (b.1791)and her mother was Elizabeth Abney(b. 1788 SC). Their children are: Nancy, b. 1813, Peter Picken Black b. 1815, Emelineb. 1817, Sophronia b. 1819, Wesley Mark Black b. 1821,Lucinda Black b. 1822, Daniel S Black b. 1827, Whitefield Black b. 1825, William D. Black b. 1829, Francis T.B. Black b. 1834.Now as you see, there is no Elizabeth here which means there may not be a complete list of the children.Somebody else researched this and I didn't--there is usually one daughter named for her mother and this mother was Elizabeth Abney. Her parents were Paul Abney and Eleanor Hamilton of Edgefield SC also.I took a glance at the Pair-Gibbons page and did not see any Elizabeth right off hand, but then they did not have all the children of all the sons listed. What they did have did not look to be complete listings, so you may have to do some digging around, but I feel that your Elizabeth does belong to this batch and especially since she is in Meriwether Co when all the rest were there. Check the Benton/Calhoun AL records too because there should be info out there on this set of Blacks.Good luck!
I feel sure you will find her in one of the other lines related to mine. Here are the brothers and sisters to Peter Black. He was the son of James Black b. 1765 in VA and d. 1828 in Newberry SC.Apparently he lived most of his life in Newberry SC.His wife was Mary, name unknown. She was born ca. 1769 in SC.Their children were:Peter b. 1791 in SC, Mark b. 1797 in SC, Daniel Scott Black b. 1800 in Newberry, Mary Black b. 1803 in Newberry, Sally Black b. 1806 in Newberry.I have found a marriage record for a James Black b. ca. 1768 who marries Mary "Polly" Harris (b. ca. 1768) in Meherrin Parish in Brunswick Co, VA & something here about maybe went to Rutherford, NC, but I do not know if this is the same James and Mary as above. Now to tell you where to look for this tree...go to the RootsWeb World Connect Project.Put Peter Black in the search engine and it should bring up the Pair-Gibbons pages of their Black ancestors. You can click up and down the family trees of each child looking for your Elizabeth.I am going to look at it now to see if I see her there.I am sure she must belong to my family. It seems they all went to Meriwether together, and several of them married there--mine did.And then, guess what? They all took off to Alabama and ended up spending the rest of their lives over in Calhoun Co, Alabama (Anniston.) They are buried over there...hope you find what you are looking for!
