Cathy, here is something interesting from a post in another forum: "The John Black she has, was married to Margaret Ford and was listed in the household of a Winston Black in the same 1850 Xenia Twp, Greene Co., OH census. Winston was born in VA, so this researcher istrying to track that Winston is James' brother and Margaret Ford is his mother, but again this has not been confirmed.".
My Andrew Herron Black moved to Greene Co. sometime between 1853-1862. He may have been a grandson of John Black. I also know the ARPpreacher - Andrew Herron from Rockbridge, moved to Greene Co. in 1840. There is another link, a John A. Black born in Rockbridge in 1851 that moved to Greene Co. (He might be a son of Andrew). The Black families descended from Henry probably belonged to either the Timber Ridge or Ebenezer churches where Andrew Herron preached in Rockbridge Co. from 1815-1832 (he officiated the wedding of Joseph Black's daughter). I know other families moved from Rockbridge to Greene Co. in the early 1800's. Perhaps the key to finding these families may be following the ARP church angle.
