Thanks so very much for the reply. The Nathaniel Black Family that I am searching for is as follows:
Thomas S Black b Virginia and Faitha Meadows Black of Upson Cty. moved there in the 1820's.They had 6 sons.Caswell Black son #2 married Elizabeth M Derrick in Henry County in 1854.1857 he died and Elizabeth is given on 1860 Henry County Census living with her parents with a 3 yr old daughter, listed only by initials of E. C..
It is said by the Black family that Nathaniel Black son #6 married Elizabeth and then he was killed at Jackson, Mississippi 14 May 1863.Timothy Turner who is related directly to this family says this is recorded in the Black Family Bible and is on the Upson County Website. It is also said that Thomas was so wealthy that upon marriage he gave each child a plantation. There are so many questions that I have.Trying to trace Elizabeth has been very difficult.Just keep thinking that somehow or someone will know about Elizabeth or her daughter.Wonder about what happened to the land that went to Nathaniel?Did all of this disolve after the war?Maybe someone in Upson County would know about the land.Someone that lives in Upson Cty. might still be related to this Black family. Thanks so much for your reply. It is much appreciated.
