Got your reply through cousin Tom. I am also researching information about my Joseph Black, first found in Campbell County, Kentucky in 1801. Died sometime around the year 1840. We are not sure where he came from and wonder if he may be Joseph Black Jr, son of Joseph Black of Black's Fort, VA. There was a Black's Station in Kentucky in the 1790's. Is this the Black's Station you refer to in your message? If so, and a Joseph Black Jr. ran that station, it is a very big clue for us. As far as I know, there was only one Joseph Black in the state of Kentucky during those years. Some family researchers claim he came from PA, but we don't have concrete proof of that. I always assumed that our Joseph Black came down the Ohio River with other pioneers from PA and then came down the Licking River where he settled in Campbell County,KY about 15 to 20 miles south of Cincinnati. Do you have any more information on Black's Station in Kentucky or Joseph Black Jr? Thanks.
