Looking over the Jonathan Black and Sarah Bratton Little sheets that I have.Their children I have are as follows:
Alexander b. 13 Feb 1788, married 30 May 1811 Margaret Miller d. 2 Jul 1850 buried Washington Cem., Rayne Twsp, Indiana Co., PA.
John (your wife's line?) b. 11 Aug 1790 married Ann Miller b. 1790. buried Bethel Cem. Rayne Twsp, Indiana Co., PA
David Solomon (my husband's line) b.1801 d. 10 Oct 1885 married Margaret Miller buried Washington Cem., Indiana Co., PA.It is a tall white stone, on one side has the names of David S. and Margaret Black, on the other side is G. C. (Gilbert Capron) Fleming and wife Martha (Black). I will look at the Miller family sheets to see if they are related or not.
Samuel married Elizabeth Scott Warner widow of Peter Warner May 1843.
Sarah married William Conner.
Ruth married James Kier.
Mary "Polly" marriedLowman.
There is the story that after Jonathan came back from the war, he told Mrs. Little that she was a widow. In time they were married.Later, her husband (Mr. Little) appeared, and finding his wife and Jonathan "married" went back where he came from.
Came from Indiana County History by Prof. Stewart.
What I am getting at here is that maybe Jonathan really thought Mr. Little was deceased because it had been many years after the war before he returned.
