Hi Steve,We seem to have different information about the same ancestor.I have William Black being born about 1760, in Dublin, Ireland.He migrated to to S. Carolina as a young lad. He married Catherine Taylor in Macklenburg, NC (or Centerville, VA.) in 1782-84.Selah or Celia or Celee Black was born in VA on July 13, 1791.When she was about 5 years old the family moved to N. Georgia. NOTE: It was reported in "1890 Memoirs of South Arkansas" - Good Speed Publications by William Thomas Black that: "Samuel Black was born on the Emerald Green Isle about 1756 and came to this country with his parents and settled in Carolina when he was six years of age. He lived to be over one hundred years of age, his death occuring in Tallapoosa Co., Ala in 1858. His son, and the grandfather of William Thomas Black (Thomas Black) was born in South Carolina and was of Irish decent.His son and the father of "Grandsa Black" (Sam Black) was born in Upson Co., GA, in 1820 and died in his native county in 1889. He was a millwright by trade.He married Nancy W. Cooper who was born in Upson C., GA in 1819."
