Have you run across a Daniel Blaney and his wife Mary (Nellie) McNichol in your searches? A son, Hugh Joseph was born in Ottawa in 1843.Another son, Charles, was born abt 1840 prior to the family's arrival in Canada.There is some confusion whether they came form Scotland or Ireland.I believe Ireland but i don't know what county.
