Re: Blewer family from Charleston, SC
I am of the Blewer line of Charleston. Yes, I have heard as well that the name has migrated from Switzerland. I know there are a few people who have the name traced back, but I do not how to contact them. They are from my matriarchal Grandfather's line, however he has passed away. We owned the Lazy B in N. Charleston, plus an old Red and White where now there is an interstate ramp and a Howard Johnson. MMost of them seem too come from around the St. GeorgeDorchester county area of Hwy 15. We all seem to be a bit eccentric in our own rights! but then look at H.R. Giger, he's also from Switzerland! If we come from switzerland, then I do not doubt that there is a great deal of Celtic influence that runs in our blood and veins. After all, the Hallstatt Culture was located slightly to the East of the Alps, and that is the earliest recorded archaeological finds including major traces of Celtic culture. Who knows, we may descend from an iron age Archdruid?!?
