Bodiford y-DNA Project started

Bodiford Cousins,

Since I have not been able to find any Bodiford that has participated in any y-DNA project at any of the common testing companies I started a project at Family Tree DNA.If someone knows where a Bodiford y-DNA project currently exists I would be glad to be proven wrong.You can view the project at www.familytreedna.com/public/Bodiford and I invite those interested to join as participants.

My goals for the project are as follows:
1. Identify the ancestral origins of persons bearing the various forms of the Bodiford surname.
2. Determine, if possible, if all North American Bodifords are descended from a single immigrant or from multiple immigrants.
3.Help participants establish that their variation of the Bodiford surname is only a change in spelling and not a different family line.
4. Help participants establish to which Bodiford line they belong when paper records are incomplete.
5. Break through brickwalls.

The project should be useful for anyone descended from persons who bear the Bodiford/Bodaford/Boderford surname but only males can be test subjects; however, ladies can recruit a brother, father, or male cousin with the Bodiford surname to be tested.

Looking forward to learning more about the various Bodiford lines.
